ASCB PRO AM Drift Competition

First off I want to thank Ace Up Motorsports and Elevens Paint & Fiber for helping me and supporting me throughout the day. Also I want to thank Maly and Bri for making one of the coolest poster boards EVER! and finally I want to thank everyone who was supporting DADDY LE :) I guess I will go by daddy le now tehehe.

This event was one my first big event. I was very excited, but at the same time I was scared. After days of preperations, My car was not in good shape as I thought it would be.

At the drivers meetings they annouced that they were running the track backwards. They said "its a 3rd or 4th gear entry" My jaw instantly droped to the floor as I never done this type of entry in my life. There were 3 cones where you could start your drift. First was Justin Bieber, 2nd was Team Jacob, and 3rd was Steve Mcqueen.

During practice I had car issues. Couplers were falling off, turbo was howling, cheap duralast break pads, and not enought power! I guess nothing major as I continue on practicing my entry's. The more and more entrys I did, I started to get in the groove. It was once less thing to worry about.

ASCB Drift practice run from danny on Vimeo.

When qualifying was about to start, judges were saying "we going to start the line further back for you guys to come in alot faster" After hearing that I got really scared. As im watching the first few groups go up I notice they were intiating at team jacob or steve mcqueen. Watching them drift at those cones were very intimitating and made me not want to continue on.

As I walk passed the crowd, group of friends chanting and screaming "DADDY LE!!! DO ME SIDEWAYS ALL NIGHT LONG!!!" Hearing the voice of friends supporting me was like a huge energy and that whetever I qualify or not they will still always got my back.

I was up for qualifying and I was scared as fuck. So many things was going through my head, what if I mess up? what if I break something? what if?, what if?, what if???? I couldnt relax or be calm.

Now that I did my 2 runs, I was finally relieve! It felt like that same feeling when I first start drifting last year in february. Really scared at first but feels great when your done.

It was time they annouce who was qualified. I ended up 10th place out of 12 qualifiers. I had entry speed of 75mph! Holy shit, I cant believe I did that!

As the competition goes on, my fuses light kept on breaking. I was getting really frustrated and couldnt see for shit in the dark. My spotter Vitaly came to the rescue and fixed it imediately. He left me some fuses in case it happened again. About every tandem run I would break a fuse. I ended up running out of fuses and had no lights.

I advance
I advance
I loose
I loose again

1st place Cody Parkhouse
2nd place Joe Haven
3rd place Mike burns

Congrats to top 3 drivers!

4th place DADDY LE!

A BIG CRACK!

That crack on my manifold was nothing compare to this crack that just recently happened. After work I went to ace hardware to buy some bolts for my front bumper. My front bumper was too low and I couldnt slide my foot under it. So I got that fix and on the way back home CRACK!!! I was crusing in 3rd gear very slow and decided, heh why not boost my car a little. And then it happened. I slammed the breaks to prevent it from happening. The hood instantly open and smash my windshield. I ducked for cover and my heart beating 10x faster then normal, I was scared and pulled over right away. It wasnt just a crack, it was like spider webs all over my front windshield. I couldnt get the hood to stay shut so I took it off and jumped on it a few times to straighten it out. Note to everyone who has hood pins, make sure lock them. Fuck! now im spending more money then I was expected.

new windshield
new exhaust manifold
new bov

And thats not all, I still need a racing suit for the 28th. Im register but im not even close to being ready...

continue

Now that the motor is in, I test drove the car. Found out that I was running really rich. My wideband was reading 11 and below at idle. When cruising, it was reading 10 at all times. So I regap my spark plugs correctly and it started to misfire at idle. WTF!! Then I pressure test to find leaks. And there it was, a broken BOV (fake hks). Opened it and fixed it but not for long. It solved the problem BUT I also found a crack on my exhaust manifold (megan). This is why you dont buy cheap shit. Cheap shit will fuck up your shit. Only 10 days left for the event and im not ready yet. Plus school starts monday and azdrift on the 21.

competition clutch stage 4

After long hours of working on my car, we had only a few hours to finish. We rush my car to the tracks as we had issues for the car to being in tip top shape. First was bogging issues. I think it could of been my spark plugs wasnt gaped properly. Second was over heating. Every single practice run in 100 degree weather I had to drive my car off the track to let it cool down. Finally towards end of the day when its not that hot, i actually got a few clean runs. Although I still had bogging problems and I try to clutch kick out of it and ended up breaking my Exedy stage 1 clutch.

Now that I broke my clutch, It was time do some parts shopping. YAY! haha I ended up doing a shopping spree instead and bought a few things extra stuff that wasnt necesary.

Taurus fans
Competition clutch stage 4
ARP head studs
Cometic head gasket
BC cams, springs, retainers
Nismo FPR w Greddy adapter
4" dual straight pipe exhaust
Dmax type 3 body kit

More and more work to do but I love it with a passion. As I put the new clutch on, we couldnt get the transmission back on. Tunnel was not banged enough and the new clutch was alot bigger then the tiny POS pressure plate that exedy makes. To be continue...

More bikes & dranks!

Meet Eric Vernon drinking and having a great time. We celebrated his birthday on Cinco De Mayo. He's a salesman at Full Race. On the side Eric specializes in AEM EMS.

Check out this sweet bike. It weighs in about 5lbs. Also its riding on 8inch wheels wrapped with aggressive tires. It has a custom seat and a custom breaking system. I got to say the kid who owns this bike will probably be in X games at the age of 10.

Bike riding with friends.

I got to say last night bike riding was awesome. Not only it can change gears but it can be a really comfortable ride. Notice the shocks?? it also has adjustable springs. On top of that, it has a very soft cushion seat. But its not just a cruiser, its sitting on 24's and it can take any type of ground condition. I got to say this bike can take you anywhere, anyplace, anytime of the day! stay tune as we take some photos of our bike ride journey.
